The copita is a small, open-lipped vessel traditionally used to serve mezcal, a distilled agave/maguey-based spirit native to Mexico. These low, wide bowls allow the alcohol to evaporate slightly, intensifying the spirit’s smokey aromas and flavors—encouraging slow sipping and presence.
The word copita itself is a diminutive of copa, meaning “little cup.” It evokes intimacy, celebration, and reverence for the drink it holds. There’s an old Oaxacan proverb that says: “Para todo mal, mezcal, y para todo bien también” — “For everything bad, mezcal, and for everything good, the same.” These vessels are created in that spirit.
Over the past several years, we’ve created thousands of custom copitas for weddings, mezcalerías, distilleries, restaurants, and private collectors around the world. Each one is a small piece of art and a piece of shared ritual—a tactile reminder of connection and care.
