Handmade ceramic copitas, each measuring 1.5″ tall by 2.75″ wide and holding 2 oz. Microwave and dishwasher-safe, lead-free, and hand-made in Colorado. Ideal for mezcal, tequila, sake, or small bites.
A toast to tradition, craftsmanship, and the small rituals that bring us together. These ceramic copitas offer a beautiful and functional way to serve mezcal, tequila, or other fine spirits—each one handcrafted in our Colorado studio from durable stoneware and finished in a deep, luminous glaze.
These tiny cups are rooted in the Oaxacan tradition of mezcal sipping, where small, shallow vessels called copitas are favored over shot glasses. Why? Because mezcal isn’t meant to be shot—it’s meant to be savored. Mezcal is quickly becoming a favorite of liquor connoiseur for its deep and smoky flavor and aroma. The wide opening of a copita encourages the aroma of the spirit to open up, allowing the drinker to fully experience its complex profile. As the saying goes in Oaxaca:
“Para todo mal, mezcal, y para todo bien, también.”
(For everything bad, mezcal. And for everything good, mezcal too.)
Whether you’re hosting a mezcal tasting, stocking your bar, planning a wedding toast, or building a restaurant set, this collection is made to last, share, and elevate the moment.
These measurements are approximate; each cup is handmade, so slight variations are part of the charm.
Please message us before purchase if you’re working with a deadline. While we usually keep these in rotation, large orders may require custom production time.
Interested in bulk orders, custom glazes, or wholesale pricing? We have made thousands of copitas for restaurants and businesses around the world, we’d love to work with you! Send us a message with your quantity, timeline, and any customization requests, and we’ll be happy to provide details.
These also make lovely mini pinch bowls for salt, spices, or mise en place in the kitchen.
Each copita is hand-thrown on the wheel in our family-run studio in Jaroso, Colorado. After drying, trimming, and bisque firing, every cup is glazed by hand and fired again to vitrify the stoneware and develop the rich glaze finish. Our process emphasizes craftsmanship, utility, and beauty—meant for everyday use, made to feel special in the hand.

Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, no two copitas are exactly the same. Minor variations in height, glaze pooling, or rim shape are part of the authentic handmade process and not considered defects.
